Welcome to my new blog!!!
It's beeen very hard for me to focus on getting this blog together (what with all this beautiful summer weather and all the lovely new sights and sounds). I've been through an excessive number of hurdles to get it up and running. But... I'm very very happy to be writing my first post. I wanted to set this up, not just as a way for me to share my travelling experiences with all of you, but for you to be able to talk back to me. There is a comment link at the bottom of each post. (I'm willing you to use it right now!) It would be lovely if this page was much more like a dialogue than a monologue.
For the first little while this blog will be running a bit out of order. I'll be telling you all about what's going on in my life now, but I also want to get you caught up on my Hong Kong and Thailand adventures. As I've had many many escapades in the past couple of months, I'll likely just put things in as they occur to me.
For those of you who are new to blogging, "blog" is simply short for weblog. It is, simply put, an on-line journal. The main differences being that a blog is interactive, dynamic and good. So read it!! ( And respond :-> )
This blog is powered by a program called Moveable Type, which I am learning as I go. (Please be patient with me.) You'll hopefully see little changes happenning slowly to this page as I tweak it away from the template that I was given toward my own design and modifications.
To use the comment tags you do have to share a bit of your personal information (really just your name and perhaps your email address). This information is for me only and is to help prevent spammers from clogging up my pages with their comments. Of course those clever spammers will likely get in anyway, but I'll be keeping an eye on things to figure out how to best keep them at bay.
Miss you all!!!
Oh... And today is the one month anniversary of Robert and I touching down on new and picturesque home.
xo Heather

Hey, am I the first to respond to your blog, Heather? I guess it does pay to have your computer running all day (ha ha, Mom)! Will you be able to post pictures on this, or is it for text only? I don't really have anything to say, I just wanted to be "first"!
Love, Jennifer

This is the second time I'm typing this, since I forgot to click on "post" a few minutes ago.
How about "willing" some of those warm temperatures in this direction, Heather? I could be skating at my beach!! Maybe I should be heading for Auckland on Thur., not Rae Lakes! Don't hold your breath waiting for my blog!
Coming in a close second,
Mom

CBC radio has been reporting all day on damage in Australia from Cyclone Larry. How are things in Auckland, Heather?
Sat.'s Ottawa Citizen had an article on a 37 yr.old guy who was bored(very) with his life in the Beaches area of Toronto and went bungee jumping off Auckland's Skytower! Tell me you're not bored!!
Love,
Mom

Bloor and Yonge seems empty without you,Heather. Congrats on your Blog! Glad you're enjoying the unpolluted air of Auckland.I'll always remember your line to your mom many years ago, "Ahh-to smell the Fresh Air of Toronto"! Spring seems very slow in coming to Toronto this year. Connie

Heather I like your blog very much! I just got back from a gorgeous holiday in a gorgeous place and Dublin now seems... well, you know. I am so jealous that you get to stay in your own gorgeous place for so long! And I do appreciate the nuances that make NZ's tower distinct from ours. Very nice tower indeed.

I'll be down here for awhile Michelle. Your more than welcome to came and visit! When are you thinking of coming.
ps. Does anyone know where to find those sneaky little Hobbits? I can't find any. But apparently Russel Crowe is quite easily spotted... Not that I saw him. Everyone else did.
